Consult our guide to natural disaster housing to learn where to book a comfortable place to stay during mandatory evacuations before or after a storm. Hurricanes, wildfires, tornadoes, and other natural disasters are unpredictable, but planning emergency housing can keep you one step ahead. You might find refuge in temporary shelters or with friends or family, but try InTown Suites extended stay hotels for affordable, flexible lodging during weather events.

Know Where To Find Hotels for Evacuation

Once you receive evacuation orders, you may not have time to shop for emergency hotels out of harm’s way. Bookmark InTown Suites’ website to quickly find an extended stay outside the evacuation zone, and reserve your room with a few clicks. Our weekly extended stay hotels are available in your time of need, whether you’re looking for an extended stay in Virginia during coastal flooding, a Florida weekly hotel to ride out tropical storms, or hotel suites in Dallas when storms form near the Gulf. All 196 of our extended stay locations provide a variety of accommodations, each with an in-room kitchen, to fit your needs and budget.

Choose Extended Stay Hotels for Temporary Housing

When you’re booking a hotel for temporary housing after a natural disaster, you’ll want to feel comfortable for however long you stay. InTown Suites’ apartment-style accommodations offer more than affordable weekly rates—each is move-in ready and features an in-room kitchen, furniture, and storage space. Moving is practically an art, and the impending task can have you wondering how to downsize before a big move to avoid the unneeded stress that comes with disorganization and too much stuff.

Downsizing is a bit of work, but it’s worth the time. Moving is the perfect opportunity to overhaul your possessions and see what can be tossed, donated, and kept. Read on for our tips for how to drastically downsize before a move.

1. AUDIT “JUST IN CASE” ITEMS

Your upcoming move is the ideal time to get rid of old phones, mystery chargers and cords, outdated headphones, and other electronics. Don’t spend the effort packing and moving these items, especially if you’ve already moved them before! Find an electronic recycling bin, often available in electronics stores, and get rid of them.

This also goes for clothes you don’t wear, duplicates of items you already have, and anything else that’s been hanging around your space for too long without a true purpose. Now is the time to start fresh and clutter-free.

2. CONSIDER YOUR NEW SPACE

Take your new space’s size into consideration. Do you have furniture that won’t fit in your new space, or are you moving to a place with fewer bedrooms than your current home? Keep your new place in mind while you sort through your belongings and determine what can come with you. Other items and furniture can be donated or sold – and who doesn’t love an extra couple bucks during a move?

3. BREAK IT DOWN

You don’t have to figure out how to drastically downsize all of your belongings in a day – you didn’t accumulate them in one day! Work by room if you can, so it’s easier to stay organized and you’re less likely to get overwhelmed by the task. Take inventory of what you have, what’s coming with you, and what can be donated, sold, or tossed.

TIP: if you’re getting rid of clothes, towels, sheets, or other textiles, look for a textile recycling program in your area. Animal shelters and rescues also love sheets and towels!

4. ENLIST THE FAMILY

To avoid moving things you don’t need, like toys that have been outgrown, enlist the help of your family when you downsize before a move to ensure that everything you’re bringing has a purpose and a place in your new space. Avoid any unnecessary complications by starting this process early and enlisting the help of the whole family to make decisions about what is coming with you, what can be donated, and what is destined for the recycling or trash.

5. DO YOUR MOVING RESEARCH

You’re on the right track by looking up how to downsize before a move and landing here. There’s plenty of information out there that’ll help you be as prepared for your move as possible. Take a look at some of our moving tips and articles:

With your possessions in transit, it can be easy to feel a little overwhelmed, but we’ll help you feel at home on the road. InTown Suites’ extended stay properties offer affordable accommodations in convenient locations.

Looking for temporary housing during a move? InTown Suites is a great option for temporary housing while moving, as well as longer term accommodations for any reason. The fully furnished, recently renovated premium suites offer a comfortable and convenient extended stay solution for as long as you need.

Move in and feel at ease at any InTown Suites extended stay hotel. With the right room selection and a few simple adjustments, you’ll feel at home in no time. Whether a relocation, an emergency, or another circumstance leads you to choose an extended stay hotel for temporary housing, these apartment-style suites are comfortable and affordable places to live. With a few enhancements, you can make your hotel suite feel like home for weeks, months, or longer.

Select the Right Hotel Suite for Your Home

Don’t expect just any hotel room to offer the comforts of home. Make a long hotel stay better by choosing an extended stay property for your temporary housing. InTown Suites offers efficiency-style living spaces with cozy beds, homelike furniture, and in-room kitchens, plus on-site laundry. The storage space in our suites is unmatched compared to what you’ll find in most standard hotels, so you can truly move in. Select a Premium Suite to get a head start on comfort. Each of these rooms has been renovated from top to bottom with an all-new kitchen and furniture, improved storage, and our best bedding.

Cook Favorite Meals in Your Suite

Since InTown’s guest suites are equipped with a stovetop, microwave, and a full-size refrigerator, you can enjoy comforting meals prepared right in your suite. Not only does eating in help save money, but the aroma of home cooking and the taste of familiar foods create a homey environment. Check the local deli counters and frozen food aisles for heat-and-eat meals you can easily prepare in your suite.

Stick to Your At-Home Routines

Just because your living situation is temporary doesn’t mean your sleep habits, healthy eating, and daily routines can’t stay on track. Your extended stay hotel suite features practical amenities for enjoyable days and nights, just like at home. The bathroom offers plenty of space for all your necessities so you can get ready for your day in the morning and prepare for bed with ease. Cook healthy meals in your in-room kitchen rather than grabbing fast food, and unwind with an evening cup of tea watching your favorite show. The suite’s seating makes downtime a breeze, and the comfortable mattress and updated bedding are perfect for a restful sleep.

Become Active in the Neighborhood

Committing to your new city and living situation can help you feel settled and at home. Introduce yourself to InTown staff and explore your new neighborhood. Our properties are in metro areas with all the services and retail stores you’re used to nearby. InTown provides convenient laundry on-site, but signing up for rewards cards and memberships for other establishments like grocery stores, a gym, and the library during your temporary stay will help you feel like a member of your new community.

Make Your Hotel Suite as Comfy as Home

An appealing hotel suite is easier to see yourself living in than a space that’s lacking personal touches. InTown Suite’s furniture and storage cover the basics for your stay, but filling in the details with your personal effects will make your suite even better. Carefully balance what to bring and what to store for an extended stay to avoid cluttering your temporary home. Fashioning a hotel suite that’s less like a room and more like home will help you feel more settled.

Unpack and Organize Your Space

Nothing says temporary like living out of a suitcase. To feel more at home, stash your luggage and completely move in your belongings. Placing your necessities and personal items on shelves and in drawers makes a hotel suite feel familiar and lived in, much like a house. Unpacking and organizing your things also has a calming effect, and keeping a clean and orderly room gives your suite a spacious and airy feel. When your essentials are organized, you can focus on what’s important rather than searching for misplaced keys or charging cords.

Whether it is your first time living solo or you’ve made a big move to a new city with your family in tow, you’ll be happy you chose InTown Suites for your short-term housing. Our extended stay properties in popular metro areas are convenient for any long stay. Thanks to furnished suites, hassle-free reservations, and online renewals, our guests are glad to call InTown home.

Explore Inexpensive Attractions & Sights

Now that you see how affordable extended-stay hotels in Indianapolis can be, it’s time to find budget-friendly activities to go with your lodging. Weekday commuters and weekend crowds find this city easy to navigate, so even if you choose our InTown Suites property in Greenwood, just outside of the city, you won’t need to worry too much about getting where you need to. Our suggestions below are within a short drive or bus ride from all of the InTown locations so you can try one or all of these activities to really get a feel for Indianapolis.

Walk Along the White River

Since this city was built along the White River, a tour of the White River State Park is definitely in order. Begin at the Visitor Center only 9 miles from InTown Suites on Post Drive to pick up brochures and scope out a quick overview of the city. After getting your bearings, enjoy the day exploring this park that covers more than 250 acres. If it is within your budget, the Indianapolis Zoo, a ballpark, museums, and bike rentals are fairly inexpensive things to do, but you’ll find roaming the green spaces spotting art installations and observing nature is all you need to enjoy yourself in this beautiful park.

Get on the Water at the Indiana Central Canal

If you’re interested in additional outdoor activities, spend an afternoon at the Indiana Central Canal, a system that dates to the early 1800s. Stretching north through White River State Park to 11th Street, the Canal provides an excellent environment for walking, running, biking, and sightseeing. Rent a pedal boat or kayak and head out on the water.

Browse Eclectic Goodies at Broad Ripple

For a taste of local shops and culture, head over to the Broad Ripple Village, just 6 miles north of downtown Indianapolis, and 5.5 miles from InTown Suites on College Park/Michigan Road. Here you’ll find all kinds of entertainment and shopping options, ranging from vinyl record shops to vintage stores, to Big Hat Books, and more, and since you’ve saved money with your affordable hotel in Indianapolis, you can splurge on something special.

Check Out the Indiana State Museum

Though not free, the ticket prices for the Indiana State Museum are quite reasonable and certainly worth the cost. The museum also offers discounts to many educators, state employees, and military members, so double-check to see whether you qualify for an admission deal. Spend a rainy afternoon touring the museum and taking in art, science, and culture exhibits, including the Age of Ice, First Nations, Natural Regions, Enterprise Indiana, and the Hoosier Way.

Visit Traders Point Creamery

This impressive organic farm and restaurant in Indianapolis is worth a visit, and sits only 2.5 miles from our Traders Point InTown Suites property. The Traders Point Creamery hosts events like sip-and-shop vendor markets that cost only $5 to attend, holiday celebrations, and yoga classes—with pigs! The gardens are a dream to explore and the historic barns present a beautiful backdrop that shows a new side to Indianapolis. Treat yourself to one of their hand-scooped artisan ice creams or select a cheeseboard or baked goods from the farm store to enjoy back at your extended stay suite.

Find Cheap, Delicious Eats

Make your visit even more affordable by cooking meals in your in-room  kitchen. Easily prepare a simple breakfast before beginning the day’s exploration, or pack a picnic lunch to take with you to any of the nearby parks. Enjoying some meals in is ideal for any budget-conscious traveler (especially on longer trips), but if you’re interested in dining out while in Indianapolis, these spots come highly recommended and make a great value:

  • Steer In Restaurant: Home to all-day breakfast, family meals, and large portions, the Steer In Restaurant is ideal for anyone looking to get a good value while eating out. The Steer In has been a fixture in Indianapolis since 1960 and once you try any of their original recipes, you’ll see why.

If securing reliable corporate housing for your construction crew or yourself is becoming more and more challenging, it’s time you consider an extended stay hotel. Whether a job entails building an office park or working on highway repair, having comfortable housing near the job site can go a long way toward employee satisfaction and productivity. Negotiating short leases with apartments can be tricky, finding furnished places to live isn’t easy, and housing rentals for professionals are expensive—so where do you look for crew housing? InTown Suites extended stay hotels are the best solution for yourself or your company when it’s time to hit the road.

Short-Term Workforce Housing

Choosing an InTown Suites extended stay hotel for short-term housing is a smart choice for any budget-conscious company or worker. The lease-free lodging won’t lock you into a contract and you won’t need to pass a credit check to book your reservation. Individuals paying for housing themselves will appreciate the flexible payments which provide peace of mind when starting a new gig. And, corporations and crews booking a week or month at a time will appreciate how the affordable rates help their bottom line.

Temporary Housing for Construction Workers

Self-employed contractors traveling to jobs, or construction workers recruited by crews around the country are often responsible for their own housing. When that’s the case, having a lead on a reliable place to live can take a lot of stress off your plate, especially if you need to find housing now with short notice. If you’ve been stuck paying exorbitant rates at a conventional hotel or you’ve been locked into a lease you didn’t want, stay at InTown Suites next time. You can book your short-term housing in advance and modify your reservation online, and your suite will be ready and waiting when you arrive. If the job experiences delays or you pick up additional work while you’re in the area,  renew your reservation online and stay as long as you need.

Corporate Housing for Construction Crews

Whether your crew is hitting the road or you’ve recruited workers to help on a construction project, you’ll need to quickly arrange short-term housing for them. InTown Suites is the best temporary housing option for construction companies and makes the reservations, payments, and the move-in process seamless.

Our team will work with you to arrange the group lodging at any of our 196 extended stay locations. Just let us know which property works best, the number of rooms you need, and the approximate length of stay. We also offer direct billing that’s easy to set up and gives corporations full control over authorized users and the account. Employees won’t need to keep receipts and wait for reimbursement, and you can securely pay your invoices online. The furnished suites are move-in ready so your crew can bring the necessities—their toiletries, clothing, and cookware—and then settle in quickly.

Hotels for Construction Workers

While a standard hotel isn’t practical for a long stay, an extended stay hotel is ideal for construction crews working on a lengthy project. Whether you’re looking for rooms for an entire construction company or for a single worker, extended stay hotels offer great value thanks to practical suite amenities and reasonable rates. Selecting InTown Suites for construction crew housing not only benefits the business paying for the lodging, but also the workers, who appreciate comfortable, private accommodations. Here are the benefits you can expect when choosing InTown Suites for workforce housing:

  • Furnished accommodations
  • Renovated suites
  • In-room kitchens
  • Included utilities
  • Access to fast Wi-Fi
  • On-site laundry
  • Free parking
  • Weekly housekeeping

Keep your next project on budget by selecting InTown Suites to house your crew. Our suites make the perfect home base for anyone to relax after work, rest up, and be prepared for the next day. And, the convenient metro locations make it easy to find short-term housing job after job.

Whether it’s for a life event or an unexpected out-of-town trip, sometimes you need immediate short-term housing, but where do you look? When you need a place to stay now, apartment applications and credit checks are too time-consuming, and finding a vacant rental that’s move-in-ready is rare. Staying in a conventional hotel with a high nightly fee isn’t sustainable for a week or more, and renting from a classified ad is risky at best. Before you think you’ve exhausted all options, consider InTown Suites’ extended stay hotels for affordable, temporary housing that’s available right now.

Reasons To Book an Extended Stay Hotel

If you need accommodations now, an extended stay hotel gives you many benefits you won’t find at another rental property or at a traditional hotel. Unlike the requirements to lease an apartment, there are no credit checks or application fees, and the quick reservation process lets you secure a place to stay in no time. Whether it’s a quick trip out of town or a relocation, InTown Suites is the right choice for these 5 reasons:

1 | Savings With Offers & Promotions

Extended stay hotels make an affordable housing option, especially for longer stays when you’re moving or on vacation. When you’re looking for a place to stay right away, explore the weekly offers at InTown Suites to catch a current deal. These limited-time discounts are offered at properties across the nation, to help you save on your weekly rate while still finding an extended stay hotel in the area of your choosing.

2 | Convenient Payment & Terms

InTown Suites understands that plans change, and allows guests to renew online or update their reservations when it’s most convenient. These courtesies aren’t extended at apartment rentals or even nightly hotels. The shortest available lease on an apartment is typically three to six months. Some complexes allow month-to-month tenants but require unrealistic advance notice for vacating and renewals, plus the convenience often means higher rental rates which can become a financial burden.

3 | Short-Term Housing in Metro Locations

Extended stay properties exist in most major metro areas across the country. And as a bonus, booking at an extended stay location puts you close to major highways, which means easy commuting to wherever you need to be. Near our extended stay locations, you’ll find lots of restaurants, retail shops, and more, to pick up groceries and other necessities so you don’t need to pack it all.

4 | Valuable In-Room & On-Site Amenities

InTown Suites’ rates include the must-have utilities, a kitchen, and basic furnishings to give its guests more value for their money. Each comfortable suite has an in-room kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, a two-burner stove top, and a microwave to prepare delicious, healthy meals instead of paying to eat out all the time. All InTown Suites properties also feature onsite guest laundry facilities so you won’t have to drive around trying to find a laundromat.

5 | Extended Stay Hotels Are Furnished for Everyday Living

Hotel rooms are typically furnished with just a bed, television, and desk chair and usually do not have enough storage space. Because extended stay guest rooms are designed for stays of a week or longer, you’ll find more of the comforts you’re accustomed to at home, including storage. The closets with built-ins give everything a place so your belongings can be organized and put away, rather than kept in your suitcase. Plus, the suites are appointed with practical furniture, which includes a sofa or comfortable chair and bedding, and our upgraded rooms feature kitchenette seating as well.

How and Where To Find Short-Term Housing

Word-of-mouth recommendations and online classified ads are some ways to locate a place to stay, but when you need something now, wasting time playing phone tag with a landlord and inquiring about rentals that are already taken is frustrating and stressful. Expedite your search by booking a suite at an extended-stay hotel. Browse InTown Suites’ extended stay locations online to see the weekly and monthly rates upfront. When you book directly, you won’t incur tons of extra fees from a third-party website, and the Best Rate Guarantee means you won’t overpay. This takes the guesswork out of the cost of your stay and allows you to make a reservation quickly and confidently.

Affordable Housing You Can Move Into Now

Furnished extended stay suites save you time and money during a fast transition or relocation. Pack your personal belongings, such as cookware, toiletries, and clothing, and you can move into a comfortable, affordable suite. You won’t need to purchase furniture or pay to have your furnishings moved in as each suite comes furnished with all the basics. The water, electricity, and WiFi are also included in the weekly or monthly rate, saving you from paying startup fees or deposits that utility companies often require. InTown Suites’ flexible payment terms allow you to keep credit cards free for incidentals, vacation expenses, or anything you need.

Our suites at InTown are available in three styles so you can strike a balance between the cost and which in-room offerings are most important to you. Select from these suites:

  • Traditional Suites: These are the most affordable accommodations and feature an in-room kitchen, private bathroom, and basic furniture, including seating and a bed and bedding.
  • Upgraded Suites: This room style offers everything in the Traditional Suites, but with upgrades including new bedding, a storage bed frame, built-in closets, a medicine cabinet, and bathroom shelving and hooks.
  • Premium Suites: These fully renovated suites feature upgraded bedding, a storage bed frame, new kitchen appliances and furnishings, plus improved storage throughout, including a bathroom vanity medicine cabinet, shelving, and hooks.

Why Travelers Choose Extended Stay Hotels

Every traveler appreciates extended stay hotels for their reasonably priced, comfortable accommodations. The rooms at InTown Suites are Triple Checked Clean and provide practical furnishings and enough space to rest, relax, or work from your suite. This leaves money in your pocket for sightseeing or a car rental during a long vacation. The variety of business and corporate travel locations also make InTown Suites extended stay hotels a top choice for company travel, and the group accounts with direct billing simplify reservations.

When you need lodging for business, pleasure, or temporary housing, InTown Suites extended stay hotels are available now. We won’t ask you to jump through unnecessary hoops like a credit check or complicated application process to secure comfortable lodging you can afford.
