Virginia Beach is a good summer vacation destination for families because the weather is beautiful, the scenery is incredible, and there is entertainment for everyone. Families looking for pleasant weather and endless things to do will appreciate all this city offers. At its hottest, the average summer temperatures in Virginia Beach hover around 85 degrees and the evenings often drop to a welcoming 70 degrees, allowing for entertainment from sunup to sundown at the beaches, parks, and boardwalk.

The reasonable rates for weekly and monthly reservations let you enjoy staying in Virginia Beach for as long as you’d like, while well-appointed suites make your extended vacation even more enjoyable.

Summer Events in Virginia Beach

‘Eventful’ is one way to describe Virginia Beach in the summer, because there are always things to do in this tourist town. The festivals, events, and farmers markets give everyone something to look forward to and make your vacation planning effortless. Consider adding these summer events to your vacation to-do list:

Planning a Summer Vacation in Fort Lauderdale

Florida isn’t only a spring break spot, it is also a top summer destination for families looking for carefree, easy vacations that include endless beach days, fabulous weather, and affordable, convenient accommodations. Late summer is one of the cheapest times to visit Fort Lauderdale because the prices drop with the tourist numbers. When the 90-degree average summer temperatures begin in Fort Lauderdale and the school year nears, fewer families hit the beach, so you can find deals on entertainment and enjoy less crowded beaches during the later season.

Weekly Hotel Rates in Fort Lauderdale

To get the best value on hotel rates during an extended stay in Fort Lauderdale, look for a property that books reservations by the week or longer. InTown Suites Fort Lauderdale offers rooms by the week, and when you book directly with us, you get our best rate, guaranteed. This means you can spring for our Premium Suite and enjoy a fully renovated kitchen, more storage, and updated bedding so everyone will wake up rested and ready for more fun.

Families on a budget appreciate having a choice in their expenses, and in-room kitchens let parents cook simple meals on the two-burner stove in the suite and eat at the dining table—a welcome improvement over hauling everyone down to a hotel’s breakfast buffet or spending to eat out for every meal.

Summer Events in Fort Lauderdale

While the beach is a Fort Lauderdale highlight,  there are other summer events in the area worth checking out. The boardwalk and areas in Hollywood, Florida near Fort Lauderdale are active all summer long, so you can look forward to:

Planning a Family Vacation in West Palm Beach

West Palm Beach is a great family vacation spot. Entertaining little ones here is effortless, and the free summer events and affordable accommodations let you stay a few extra days for relaxing, exploring, or whatever you like to do. The beaches in West Palm Beach are especially favorable because there are options to please no-frills sunshine seekers and families who prefer access to playgrounds and amenities during beach days. The high average summer temperature in West Palm Beach is around 90 degrees, so dedicating time to spend near the water will simplify your planning and help keep you comfortable, especially if you aren’t used to the heat.

Weekly Hotel Rates in West Palm Beach

While most advise visiting during off-season to get a good hotel deal, InTown Suites offers great weekly hotel rates in West Palm Beach anytime. A smart decision about your family’s lodging stretches your budget so you can enjoy a weeklong (or longer) stay in this beautiful city.

West Palm Beach InTown Suites offers Premium Suites at reasonable rates. These Premium Suites feature tons of storage so you can pack what your family needs—and wants—for a relaxing vacation. The new full-size refrigerator, microwave, and two-burner stove are excellent additions for cooking meals before the beach or packing a picnic for the park. Each non-smoking suite is Triple Checked Clean and beautifully furnished with comfortable seating and bedding so your evenings in, nap times, and lazy mornings truly feel like a vacation. When it’s time to venture out, there is a water park, aquarium, bowling alley, and many parks within only a short drive of this popular property.

Summer Events in West Palm Beach

Save time in your itinerary for checking out the downtown area of West Palm Beach. This lively district hosts some of the can’t-miss summer happenings, and because it is less than eight miles from InTown Suites, you’ll have easy access to all the best things to do, including these events:

Planning a Family Vacation in Savannah

Savannah is a fabulous Southern escape for families. This destination offers culture, history, and a vibrant summer scene. Best of all, you can find affordable weekly hotels so you have time and funds to savor the best of Savannah, including its wonderful beaches. This picture-perfect area is laid-back and quiet, so your family can relax and spend the day building sandcastles, swimming, or exploring the outdoors. The average summer temperature in Charleston is in the mid-80s on the warmer days, so you can expect great weather for splashing in the surf and lounging on the sand.

Weekly Hotel Rates in Charleston

These extended-stay hotels provide great lodging, and all properties offer Premium Suites for extra comfort during a long stay. The property amenities include on-site guest laundry facilities so families don’t need to waste time finding a laundromat in a new town, and the in-room kitchens make mealtimes extra easy. Every Premium Suite is fully furnished with our best bedding and seating, and a large TV with an expanded channel lineup, so you can catch the big game or find a family-friendly movie without going out. USB charging stations and super-fast Wi-Fi keep little ones’ tablets and electronics ready when you need them. Our Charleston property locations are just outside of downtown, so you’ll have a quiet retreat with easy access to many local attractions.

Summer Events in Charleston

While browsing the historic neighborhoods and visiting the gorgeous beaches can fill a weeklong visit in Charleston, there are also family-friendly activities happening on nearly any night of the week. When you’re planning your trip to ‘Chucktown,’ add some of these summer events to your itinerary:

We can’t wait to host your family’s summer vacation in any of these fabulous destinations. Watch our weekly offers to find even better rates on your next reservation. Atlanta is a large and diverse city, but many people only explore downtown Atlanta when they visit. Wondering what other parts of Atlanta are best to visit? Spice up your next trip to The Big Peach with these top areas of metro Atlanta, offering everything from festivals and filming locations to outdoor activities and museums.

1.     CONYERS

Conyers is just east of Atlanta, and is home to over 15,000 people. Conyers is home to The Georgia International Horse Park, which was the site of the Equestrian Games during the 1996 Summer Olympics. The park is still a popular destination with locals and tourists alike for mountain biking and horseback riding near Atlanta. The city’s famous Cherry Blossom Festival takes place each March at The Georgia International Horse Park – Conyers is a great place to see cherry blossoms near Atlanta.

2.     DOUGLASVILLE

West of Atlanta is Douglasville, home to over 34,000 residents. Plan a visit to Douglasville to grab dinner in their charming downtown area, nationally designated a Main Street City, and then see what O’Neal Plaza has to offer. In addition to shops, restaurants, markets, and galleries, you’ll find a filming location for Netflix Original Stranger Things: an old coin laundry on Church Street was transformed into the arcade frequented by the kids in season two.

3.     DULUTH

Voted by NewsMax Magazine as a top ten city for ‘Best American Values’, Duluth is a suburban dream. The downtown area is home to only local businesses, which helps to evoke classic Southern charm. Visit Duluth for small town charm with big city perks like live music venues, museums, and more things to do near Atlanta.

4.     GAINESVILLE

Another popular place to stay in metro Atlanta, Gainesville is located in a prime spot at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on Lake Lanier. Lake Lanier is a stunning waterway, the site of the rowing and kayaking events during the 1996 Olympic Summer Games, and is still popular for watersports like kayaking and boating. Gainesville also boasts a vibrant and bustling downtown area, home to some of the best hidden gems near Atlanta like Southern Baked Pie Company on Broad Street.

5.     JOHNS CREEK

Johns Creek is one of the largest metro areas in Atlanta. Outdoor enthusiasts love getting out on the Chattahoochee River, which is famous for incredible trout fishing, and exploring the multiple protected outdoor recreational areas in this suburb near Atlanta. Looking for winter festivals near Atlanta? Johns Creek hosts a Founder’s Day festival each December, a week-long celebration of the city’s recent founding (it was only officially incorporated in 2006!)

6.     KENNESAW

Kennesaw is named for Kennesaw Mountain, the highest point in Atlanta. The area was originally developed as a railroad town, and you can learn about its evolution at the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History. Kennesaw State University’s students keep the vibe of this metro Atlanta area young and fun, with plenty of breweries, distilleries, restaurants, and unique activities to fill your schedule.

7.     NORCROSS

Norcross is a quiet suburban utopia near Atlanta, easily reached by all major highways. Downtown Norcross boasts a small town feel with many quaint shops and cafes to explore – the perfect place to visit when you want some time away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Atlanta.

8.     PEACHTREE CITY

While Peachtree City served as the backdrop for many scenes on AMC’s The Walking Dead, the city has a relaxed, resort lifestyle feel off set. Peachtree City is famous for having miles of golf cart paths as collectively, the city’s residents own over 9,000 golf carts. Most of the area’s lakes, parks, shops and restaurants are easily accessible via golf cart paths, giving visitors to this area the feel of visiting a giant, all-inclusive resort.

9.     ROSWELL

While Roswell is a part of the Atlanta Metro Area, it is also the state’s 8th largest city in its own right. Stop by the Archibald Smith Plantation Home and admire the gorgeous architecture, or follow Vickery Creek Trail to the stunning Roswell Mill and Falls for some of the best scenic views near Atlanta. Many of Roswell’s historic mansions are reported to be haunted and can be toured on nightly ghost walks. If you enjoy cycling, you’ll be happy to know that Roswell is the first bicycle friendly city in Georgia! The area has miles of safe biking trails to explore.

10.   SANDY SPRINGS

Sandy Springs is the second largest city in the metro area, home to almost 110,000 residents. If you’re in town, be sure to visit the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum, which explores the rich history of the local area, and spend some time in City Springs. City Springs is a walkable city center, home to restaurants, shopping, live music, and more.

When planning an extended stay in the Windy City, look for weekly hotels in Chicago for comfortable, budget-friendly lodging in excellent metro locations. Whether your visit to Chicago is for a short-term work assignment or you’re relocating for a new job, staying at an extended stay hotel like InTown Suites is always affordable and convenient. Follow along to see the best short-term housing options for any length of stay and find affordable things to do to make your time in Chi-town worthwhile.

If you need more time to complete a lengthy business project or you’re having too much fun on vacation to leave just yet, you can conveniently renew your stay online at InTown Suites.

Apartments vs. Extended Stay Hotels in Chicago

While there are many reasons to choose an extended stay hotel over an apartment, flexibility is the main difference between securing an apartment versus booking a weekly hotel. Unlike most apartments, InTown Suites offers lease-free, short-term housing in Chicago that’s easy to book online, without a credit check. Because there is no contract, you can extend your stay if your plans change, without making a long-term commitment. Choosing an extended stay at InTown Suites for vacation or relocation can save you money on what could otherwise be a substantial travel expense. Most people agree that the experience of exploring new and unfamiliar places is truly priceless. Instead of missing out, save money on your accommodations by choosing an extended stay property, and then spend your funds on what suits you best.

You can anticipate getting a big bang for your buck at an extended stay hotel, but that’s not all to expect. If you’re wondering what it is like to stay at InTown Suites, find answers for what to bring or store for an extended stay and what your suite will be like below.

What comes with my InTown Suites extended stay room?

InTown Suites offers more than just temporary housing at affordable rates; our accommodations provide all the basic furnishings you need for a comfortable extended stay. Bringing essential personal belongings, clothing, toiletries, and basic cookware is recommended, but leave your television and sofa in storage, because each suite includes a large HDTV, seating, and kitchen appliances to make moving in less complicated.

Single bedrooms are standard at most locations, but you’ll find a variety of configurations from property to property. Every apartment-like suite offers more in-room comforts than a traditional hotel room. You’ll appreciate the suite amenities in every InTown room, including:

  • In-room kitchen (full-size refrigerator, two-burner stove, and microwave)
  • Dinette table and chairs
  • Comfortable bed
  • Large HDTV with an expanded channel lineup
  • Clothing dresser
  • Nightstand
  • Seating
  • Closet area
  • Spacious bathroom with shower or shower/tub combo, depending on location
  • Telephone
  • Accessibility features in certain rooms

For above-standard accommodations and extra comfort, select our Premium Suite. These fully renovated suites feature a brand-new kitchen and appliances and updated furnishings and bedding. Lighting with a USB charging station keeps your electronics ready to go, and the ample storage throughout makes organizing your short-term suite easy.

Can I cook in my suite?

Yes, InTown properties feature an in-room kitchen in every suite. Most hotels with a microwave oven in the rooms charge extra for the “kitchenette,” but at InTown, basic cooking appliances are standard. If you’re looking to keep your budget in check, stick to a health and wellness plan, or simply enjoy the comforts of a home-cooked meal, you’ll love the convenience our suites provide. Our rooms include storage for ingredients and the basic cookware you bring with you, plus these appliances:

  • Two-burner stovetop
  • Microwave
  • Full-size refrigerator
  • Kitchen sink

Can I bring my pet?

We don’t accept pets at InTown Suites, but service animals are always welcome. We are often asked, “Does InTown Suites allow pets?” and while we regret that our pet policy does not allow your furry friend to join you, our sister property, Uptown Suites, is a pet-friendly extended-stay hotel.

What services & amenities does InTown Suites offer?

When you choose us, your extended stay hotel feels like home, offering the comforts and conveniences you’re used to. Expect these standard services and amenities at any extended stay InTown Suites:

  • Weekly housekeeping
  • Laundry facility
  • High-speed Wi-Fi
  • Telephone with free local calls and voicemail
  • Flexible payment options
  • Free parking

At InTown Suites, know that you’re welcome to settle in for an extended stay that lasts as long as you wish, whether that’s a week, month, or longer. If your plans change, renew your reservation online anytime.

Does InTown Suites have vending machines?

A selection of InTown Suites’ properties has vending machines for your convenience, but our extended stay hotels are located in metro areas near necessity stores, shopping malls, and supermarkets so you can easily stock up on anything you need.

Does InTown Suites require a deposit?

Though it varies from property to property, most InTown Suites do require a nominal damage deposit which is fully refunded upon checkout following the room inspection.

What are InTown’s office hours?

Because our extended stay properties operate more like apartments than they do conventional hotels, our office hours are generally from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. If assistance is needed after hours, call the location ahead of time to confirm availability.

Where can I find InTown Suites?

If you’re a Road Warrior, traveling for weeks or even months at a time while you work, you know how tough it can be to get used to living on the road. It takes some adjusting, but you’ll be a pro in no time with this advice.

Pack Smart

A long trip away from home brings up a major question: what do I bring? What you need will vary from trip to trip. Check the weather in your destination and pack accordingly, keeping the purpose for your trip in mind. Packing light affords you easier travel, helping you keep track of what you have and letting you pack up quickly when it’s time to head out.

Worried about running out of clean laundry? Choose accommodations like InTown Suites, where an on-site laundry facility is available.

Pro tip: roll your clothes in your suitcase instead of folding them. You’ll save space in your luggage, and your clothes will be less wrinkled!

Keep it Local

Traveling for work doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun! Check out restaurants and other local haunts that are exclusive to the area. Can’t decide, or have a craving for something specific? The front desk may have some recommendations. This extends to pharmacies, stores, and other places you may need to visit while you’re on the road.

While staying away from fast food is typically a good idea for staying on budget while you travel, the classics are available nearby for late nights or early mornings.

Entertainment on the Road

If you’ll be spending hours on the road, invest in entertainment to help pass the time. Radio service can be spotty in rural areas, so download your favorite tunes, podcasts, or even a curated driving playlist to your phone for uninterrupted listening.

Looking for entertainment once you arrive? Wind down in your suite after a long day with an expanded TV channel lineup featuring premium channels.

Pro Tip: Add state-specific songs to your playlist if you’re crossing state lines on your trip.

Accommodations with Kitchen Facilities

Meals out are great, but not always cost effective on a long-term assignment. Once you’ve tried out the local cuisine, making your own meals is a great way to keep costs down and stay in control of your diet while you’re traveling for work.

All suites have an in-room kitchen with full-sized refrigerator, microwave, and two-burner stove top to make cooking in your room easy and convenient.

Safety Precautions

Always be prepared when traveling. If you’ll be away from home for weeks at a time, invest in safety precautions like an up-to-date AAA membership. If something happens to your vehicle, you won’t be stranded. Speaking of your vehicle, keep the tank as full as you can – don’t get caught on E with no gas stations around.

It’s also a good idea to keep a Flat Tire Kit in your trunk, and carry a First Aid Kit with you.

Pro Tip: Let your bank know that you’re traveling. Locking a debit or credit card is a great feature if the card is lost, but you don’t want to be stuck without access to your money because the bank thought your location was suspicious!

We hope these tips will help make life on the road a little easier!

Move in and feel at ease at any InTown Suites extended stay hotel. With the right room selection and a few simple adjustments, you’ll feel at home in no time. Whether a relocation, an emergency, or another circumstance leads you to choose an extended stay hotel for temporary housing, these apartment-style suites are comfortable and affordable places to live. With a few enhancements, you can make your hotel suite feel like home for weeks, months, or longer.

Select the Right Hotel Suite for Your Home

Don’t expect just any hotel room to offer the comforts of home. Make a long hotel stay better by choosing an extended stay property for your temporary housing. InTown Suites offers efficiency-style living spaces with cozy beds, homelike furniture, and in-room kitchens, plus on-site laundry. The storage space in our suites is unmatched compared to what you’ll find in most standard hotels, so you can truly move in. Select a Premium Suite to get a head start on comfort. Each of these rooms has been renovated from top to bottom with an all-new kitchen and furniture, improved storage, and our best bedding.

Cook Favorite Meals in Your Suite

Since InTown’s guest suites are equipped with a stovetop, microwave, and a full-size refrigerator, you can enjoy comforting meals prepared right in your suite. Not only does eating in help save money, but the aroma of home cooking and the taste of familiar foods create a homey environment. Check the local deli counters and frozen food aisles for heat-and-eat meals you can easily prepare in your suite.

Stick to Your At-Home Routines

Just because your living situation is temporary doesn’t mean your sleep habits, healthy eating, and daily routines can’t stay on track. Your extended stay hotel suite features practical amenities for enjoyable days and nights, just like at home. The bathroom offers plenty of space for all your necessities so you can get ready for your day in the morning and prepare for bed with ease. Cook healthy meals in your in-room kitchen rather than grabbing fast food, and unwind with an evening cup of tea watching your favorite show. The suite’s seating makes downtime a breeze, and the comfortable mattress and updated bedding are perfect for a restful sleep.

Become Active in the Neighborhood

Committing to your new city and living situation can help you feel settled and at home. Introduce yourself to InTown staff and explore your new neighborhood. Our properties are in metro areas with all the services and retail stores you’re used to nearby. InTown provides convenient laundry on-site, but signing up for rewards cards and memberships for other establishments like grocery stores, a gym, and the library during your temporary stay will help you feel like a member of your new community.

Make Your Hotel Suite as Comfy as Home

An appealing hotel suite is easier to see yourself living in than a space that’s lacking personal touches. InTown Suite’s furniture and storage cover the basics for your stay, but filling in the details with your personal effects will make your suite even better. Carefully balance what to bring and what to store for an extended stay to avoid cluttering your temporary home. Fashioning a hotel suite that’s less like a room and more like home will help you feel more settled.

Unpack and Organize Your Space

Nothing says temporary like living out of a suitcase. To feel more at home, stash your luggage and completely move in your belongings. Placing your necessities and personal items on shelves and in drawers makes a hotel suite feel familiar and lived in, much like a house. Unpacking and organizing your things also has a calming effect, and keeping a clean and orderly room gives your suite a spacious and airy feel. When your essentials are organized, you can focus on what’s important rather than searching for misplaced keys or charging cords.

Whether it is your first time living solo or you’ve made a big move to a new city with your family in tow, you’ll be happy you chose InTown Suites for your short-term housing. Our extended stay properties in popular metro areas are convenient for any long stay. Thanks to furnished suites, hassle-free reservations, and online renewals, our guests are glad to call InTown home.

Planning an extended stay vacation to Phoenix? This city offers many low-cost attractions, museums, and activities to choose from. Stay at one of our three Phoenix metro InTown Suites and make your travel budget go even further. Follow along to find great accommodations near all the best things to do and have fun exploring Phoenix and enjoying new adventures every day.

Affordable Weekly Hotels Near Things To Do in Phoenix

Selecting extended-stay hotels in Phoenix near attractions is key to making your trip affordable and stress-free. If you’re a fan of idioms, you probably agree that “time is money,” so why would you want to waste your entire vacation commuting to and from things to do? Not only will this cost money for gas or rideshares, and squander valuable time you might spend on more worthwhile pursuits, but no one wants to blow their entire week sitting in traffic.

InTown Suites’ Phoenix extended stay hotels are located in metro areas near tons of free and cheap things to do. Each suite is outfitted for a practical, budget-friendly vacation and includes an in-room kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, two-burner stovetop, and microwave so you don’t need to eat out every meal, and you will have plenty of space to enjoy activities in your suite instead of paying for nightly entertainment. The cheap weekly rates let you stay long enough to enjoy all the area has to offer, too. So now that you know where to stay in Phoenix, it’s time to create an itinerary.

Free Things To Do in Phoenix

Having fun in Phoenix doesn’t have to cost you a lot of money or require endless searching to find things to do—this city has loads of fun stuff to do, from attractions to museums and outdoor spots that are engaging for all ages—and most of them are free. Museums are a great way to learn and explore: The Art Museum is free on Wednesdays and the Capitol Museum is free every day with an advanced reservation. We’ve included other options for entertainment related to nature, history, and sports, so you can find free things to do today or any day during your visit.

Walk Through Historic Heritage Square

The city block known as Historic Heritage Square is part of the Heritage & Science Park and can be found on the National Register of Historic Places; this district features beautiful Victorian homes from Phoenix’s original settlement. Take a leisurely stroll through the oldest residential area in the city, and be sure to check out Rosson House in Heritage Square, which was once one of the most prominent homes in town. The official tour is a worthwhile, yet cheap thing to do in Phoenix, as it lasts an hour and the cost starts under $20 for adults. There are also discounts available for seniors, members, and military personnel. This attraction is just seven miles from InTown Suites Phoenix West and within 20 minutes of Chandler and Gilbert.

Get Active in South Mountain Park

This park is one of the best free things to do in Phoenix and it is open every day, even weekends. South Mountain Park is a 16,000-acre park full of trails and wildlife, and there’s a road that leads to a lookout with panoramic city and valley views. Pack a picnic lunch and head out for hiking and spending the day in this stunning natural environment. There are trails for any skill level and lots to see, like the petroglyphs (prehistoric rock art) and the famed Mystery Castle. This park is nearest the Chandler InTown Suites, just a short five-mile drive away, but is within 15 miles of all our metro properties.

Visit the Phoenix Art Museum For Free

Because it offers free admission on Wednesdays from 3pm to 9pm, there’s no better time or place to immerse yourself in art exploration than at the Phoenix Art Museum. The United States’ largest art museum for visual art features exhibits with an emphasis on American, Asian, European, Latin American, modern and contemporary influences. Along with free Wednesdays, the Phoenix Art Museum also hosts free events quarterly, one on rotating dates and the other on select Fridays:

  • Family Fundays: This all-ages event is offered free to everyone four times a year and features all-ages arts engagement programming.
  • AfterHours: On select Friday evenings the museum is open for free live music, art-making workshops, specialty food and drink experiences, and other performances.

Tour the Arizona Capitol Museum

You’ll need to plan ahead to visit the Capitol Museum, but it is one of the free things to do in Phoenix that interests civic-minded visitors, architecture enthusiasts, and history buffs alike. Tours are available by reservation only and must be booked one week in advance. Learn about Arizona’s time as a territory and the early days of its statehood, see its historic flags, and spend some time at the Bolin Memorial Park outside. The monuments include those for the USS Arizona, memorials for Desert Storm and World War II, and more. InTown Suites West is the nearest location, but the other properties are within a 30-minute drive.

See the Action at the Cardinals Training Camp

When you’re looking for free stuff to do in Phoenix for sports fans, head to the Cardinals Training Camp. These open practice days are free for anyone to watch the superstar football players run drills and get ready for the next season. The State Farm Stadium also hosted Super Bowl LVII in 2023 so you can see where history was made. No-cost digital tickets are required to hold your spot, so stay tuned for the dates, as they are announced during the summer. The nearest InTown Suites is the West location, just seven miles away.

Cheap Things To Do in Phoenix

Though these activities will cost you a few dollars for admission, these cheap things to do in Phoenix are worthwhile ways to spend your time. We’ve included a mix of indoor and outdoor activities so you can find entertainment for any weather. And none of these activities is too far from our affordable InTown Suites locations in Phoenix.

Stroll the Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix

Discover this serene garden in the heart of downtown Phoenix and feel transported to a different world. The Japanese Friendship Garden includes four gardens—the stroll garden, tea garden, stone garden, and courtyard garden and is within 30 minutes from the three InTown Properties in Phoenix. The low-cost admission is available only online, and prices increase at the gate, so order your tickets in advance for the cheapest admission.

Uncover History at the Hall of Flame Fire Museum

Add the Hall of Flame Fire Museum to your list of cheap things to do in Phoenix to learn about firefighter heroes and see antique equipment. This museum offers free parking, and admission starts under $20. Touring the Hall of Flame Fire Museum is money well spent when you see all of the historic exhibits of fully restored fire apparatuses dating from 1725 to 1969, plus firetrucks and interactive areas. This museum is within 15 miles of all of the InTown Suites locations.

Learn Something New at the Arizona Science Center

Discounted admission days and promotions make the Arizona Science Center another affordable, cheap thing to do while in Phoenix. Visit in the afternoons (after 1:00 p.m.) to take 32% off an adult general admission, and find other discounts for seniors and active duty military members. This museum is open seven days a week so you can add it to your list of things to do in Phoenix this weekend or during the week. The center features permanent exhibits about flight, money, and biology, plus rotating attractions.

Saddle-Up for Adventure at Goldfield Ghost Town

Though this attraction is about 45 minutes from downtown, it is well worth the desert drive since most visitors to Phoenix agree that seeing Goldfield is one of their favorite things to do. This real ghost town from the Gold Rush era offers many attractions; most are cheap—costing only $8 to $12 each—and some are free. Pan for gold, circle the town on a narrated railroad journey, explore authentic Old West buildings, or head underground for a tour of the former gold mine. There’s also a bakery, saloon, and merchants in the town for you to make the most of your time in Goldfield.

Step up to the Plate with Chase Field Tours

The 75-minute ballpark tour of Chase Field, home to the Diamondbacks of MLB, is a great adventure for baseball fans. Admission is relatively inexpensive—especially during the week—and they also offer discounted parking right at the stadium and deals at the team store for tour participants. The ballpark itself boasts some features worth seeing, like a pool in right field, one of the league’s largest video scoreboards, and several restaurants. This tour is a cheap activity for any sports fan and a fun way for anyone in Phoenix to spend their day.
Now that you’ve got some inspiration for free or relatively cheap things to do in Phoenix, it’s time to plan your trip! You can easily fill a weeklong itinerary with one or more of these activities and make your vacation the most fun—and affordable—one yet.
